“Sister Wives” star Kody Brown, who was once married to four women, has lost another one of his partners.
The family patriarch, 53, announced his breakup from Janelle Brown in a sneak peek of the upcoming “Sister Wives: One on One” special.
“Yes, we are separated,” Kody said in the clip, which aired Sunday on TLC.
Elsewhere in the preview, Janelle, 53, also confirmed that she and Kody had called it quits after entering into a polygamous marriage in 1993.
“We’ve been separated for several months,” she informed the special’s visibly shocked host, Sukanya Krishnan.
The news comes one year after Christine Brown announced she and Kody were ending their 25-year “spiritual union.”
Kody still has a polygamous bond with Meri Brown and Robyn Brown; however, his relationship with Meri, 51, has become platonic.
“Sister Wives” fans most recently saw Kody “begging” Janelle to work on having a stronger connection with him.
“I never thought that I would ever be in a place where I would be questioning my relationship, but the last few years, I began to wonder if we’re compatible anymore,” she said in an episode that aired earlier this month.
“Maybe this doesn’t work anymore for me. I don’t know.”
The former couple have also clashed several times over Kody’s strict COVID-19 precautions.
“This is the same ol’ argument. I don’t need to be beaten into submission, made to kowtow. I’m just not. I just don’t need this,” Janelle said after Kody accused her of failing to comply with the family’s rules.
“In the last 18 months, I’ve realized that I’m pretty good. I’m independent, and I’m not going to stand here and be yelled at. I just don’t need it. I don’t deserve it, and I don’t need it.”
Janelle continued, “I just think we’ve never had divides this deep. Christine has left, and that’s obviously [a] very, very big departure for what our family has looked like for many years. This is, like, the ultimate test of our family. Can we hold it together with all of this?”
Kody, who is a father of 18, shares six children with Janelle: Logan, 28, Madison, 27, Hunter, 25, Garrison, 24, Gabriel, 21, and Savannah, 17.
