Skims review: We tried 11 bestsellers from Kim Kardashian’s brand

Since launching Skims in 2019 with a range of shapewear — or as she calls it, “solutionwear” — founder Kim Kardashian’s grown her brand into a multi-billion-dollar behemoth that’s managed to make her even more famous (not to mention wealthy).

Over the past several years, Skims has stretched into categories including underwear, loungewear and swimwear, earning accolades along the way for its cleverly cast campaigns starring the likes of Nelly Furtado, Kim CattrallIce SpiceSZABrooke ShieldsCarmen Electra and Jenny McCarthy.

Skims has also been lauded for its inclusive size range — most styles are available in XXS to 5X — and color options, designed to match a spectrum of different skin tones.

To find out whether Kardashian’s underthings empire is truly worth the hype, we ordered a handful of brand bestsellers from across various categories and tapped a few staffers from The Post to put them to the test. Read on for our full review.

Bodysuits/Shapewear

Asia Grace, New York Post Features Reporter: “I wore the Seamless Sculpt Brief Bodysuit in size L — as in oh là là — which, surprisingly, was my initial reaction once I stepped into the one-piece. Although I’m not a shapewear enthusiast, I found the Skims piece comfortable — like I could style it with any outfit and feel good all day.

“I appreciated how Kim K’s team fashioned the piece to offer cinching in the front and sides, accentuating the hourglass-ness of my curves. The bodysuit also features a built-in bra, which I typically hate because these boobs almost never fit into pre-made cups. However, at the risk of sounding too much like a fangirl, the Skims held my breasts in nicely.

“Rather than throwing it under a dress, I’d let the bodysuit serve as the star of the show, featuring it as a part of my outerwear rather than underwear. I envision myself rocking the onesie with some cute black pants, a cropped leather jacket and some statement heels.

“After I tried it on, my coworker stopped me in the hallway and asked, ‘Do I need to buy one?’ I said, ‘Yeah, babe. It’s the bodysuit that none of us knew we needed.'”

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • No bra needed
  • Can be styled as part of an outfit

Cons

  • None to note

Seamless Sculpt Mid Thigh Bodysuit

Elana Fishman, Page Six Style Editor: “Hoo boy, this was not easy to shimmy into — and I sized up from my usual Skims size S to a M. The Seamless Sculpt collection runs small, people! Getting this thing onto my body was a real workout.

“That said, once I managed to wriggle my way into the thing, it was surprisingly comfortable. Several coworkers told me I looked positively snatched, but I didn’t feel strangled or suffocated — just supported. I did, however, choose to wear my usual lightly lined bra beneath the bodysuit, as I found that if I went without it, my little B cups were completely flattened by the compression.

“When I saw that the leg openings weren’t silicone-lined, I immediately assumed the shorts would ride up. Amazingly, they stayed put! I’d definitely wear this again under anything clingy or otherwise body-conscious. And as Asia mentioned, unlike most shapewear, these bodysuits look nice enough that you can style them with the pants or skirt of your choice without looking like you’ve left the house in your undergarments.”

Taylor Valentine, Page Six Lead Video Editor/Producer: “I typically am not a fan of bodysuits, as I find thong and bikini styles to be annoying and give you a permanent wedgie. But this was really comfortable, and the legs were my favorite part.

“I love that I don’t have to wear a bra with this, and it still lifts and secures to the point that I don’t have to keep pulling it up. The fit is snug, but it’s supposed to be; the day of our shoot, I was feeling extra bloated and camera-conscious, but it absolutely gave me a confidence boost after I saw how well it actually snatched my waist.

“I even wore it home from the shoot with my jeans, and I felt like it really gave me a confidence boost. I have about four weddings in the next three months, so this will come in handy! I’m planning to purchase the strapless version as well.”

Pros:

  • Comfortable
  • Shorts don’t ride up
  • Can be styled as part of an outfit

Cons:

  • Runs small
  • Difficult to put on
  • Those with small busts might not appreciate minimizing effect

Bras

Julia Remillard, Page Six Senior Manager, Social Media Marketing: “I loved this bra! I am a comfort girl through and through, and I loved how soft and flexible it was. I am a small B cup — so not a lot going on — but I still felt supported, and that is important to me.

“I will say, if it’s a chilly day, your girls might need an extra layer if you want a non-nip look! Also, if you’re small-chested and looking for some oomph, this isn’t the right move. But for a lounge day in a hoodie? Yes, ma’am.”

Pros:

  • Soft
  • Very comfortable
  • Supportive

Cons:

  • Thin fabric means nipples might show through

Fits Everybody Triangle Bralette

Elana Fishman, Page Six Style Editor: “I’m the kind of girl who whips off her bra as soon as she gets home at the end of the day, but this might be the first bra I’ve tried that’s comfy enough to lounge and even sleep in. In terms of comfort, I have absolutely no notes; the fabric’s like butter and the band doesn’t dig whatsoever.

“That said, while it’s definitely supportive enough for my 32B bust, it doesn’t quite offer enough shaping and lift to make it my new holy grail. I’ll stick with my lightly lined favorite for work and evenings out, but could see this being my new go-to for weekends and more casual outings.”

Pros:

  • Incredibly comfortable
  • Soft
  • Supportive

Cons:

  • Those with small busts might want more of a boost

Weightless Demi Bra

Taylor Valentine: “I wear this bra every single day! I got it in a 34D, which is my true size. It’s almost ridiculous how much I love it, because normally I don’t gravitate toward underwire bras — but this one is so comfy.

“The mesh material doesn’t cut me off or give me that annoying ‘overflow look.’ It’s a 10 out of 10. I really need five more … or at least to try out the other bras from the Weightless Collection.”

Pros:

  • Comfortable despite the underwire
  • No spillage
  • Mesh material is smooth and supportive

Cons:

  • None to note

Asia Grace: “I tested this in a 38D, which is my normal bra size. My favorite feature is the mesh-like material; it feels good on my skin.

“It’s hard to get a bra that has comfortable underwire — but no notes, Kim. You really knocked it out of the park with this one.”

Pros:

  • Comfortable despite the underwire
  • Mesh material is soft against skin

Cons:

  • None to note

Ultimate Teardrop Push-Up Bra

Elana Fishman: “I’ve tried out a number of different Skims bras over the past few years, and while the aforementioned Fits Everybody Triangle Bralette is definitely the comfiest option, I liked the Ultimate Bra best for special occasions.

“As a proud member of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee, I’m not used to having much in the way of cleavage, and this bra definitely gives me a boost. But it’s not shelflike and it doesn’t feel bulky. I was envisioning more of an ah-ooh-ga effect, super dramatic and in-your-face, but it’s a pretty natural look.

“As Skims notes on its website, however, this bra does run a bit small; my usual 32B was quite snug. The brand advises that you go up a band size if you’re in between two, which I think is a wise recommendation.”

Pros:

  • Comfortable (by push-up bra standards)
  • Offers excellent shaping and support
  • Hello, cleavage!

Cons:

  • Runs small; those in between sizes should go up one band size

Underwear

Fits Everybody Dipped Front Thong

Skims Fits Everybody Dipped Front Thong
Skims

Julia Remillard: “Let me just say first off that I have a strong dislike towards thongs. However, this one pleasantly changed my mind. I truly could not feel it while it was on.

“It’s lightweight, invisible under clothing and truly full-coverage in the appropriate/necessary places, which allowed me to move without fear of a readjustment. I think this thong was my favorite/most buy-worthy of the bunch.”

Pros:

  • So comfortable, it feels like you’re wearing nothing
  • Invisible under clothing
  • Doesn’t shift with movement

Cons:

  • None to note

Fits Everybody Boy Short

Skims Fits Everybody Boy Short
Skims

Elana Fishman: “I’m truly in love with the Fits Everybody fabric; it’s so silky, soft, stretchy and practically seamless. I couldn’t even feel these shorts while I was wearing them, which is all I can really ask for in a pair of undies. Blessedly, they also don’t ride up!

“My one complaint, if you can even call it that, is that I wish these were a bit higher-waisted; they sat quite a bit lower on me than on the models pictured on Skims’ website. I’m eager to try the Full Brief next!”

Pros:

  • So comfortable, it feels like you’re wearing nothing
  • Doesn’t ride up
  • Bye-bye, panty lines

Cons:

  • Could be a bit higher-waisted (although this is subjective)

Clothing/Loungewear

Cotton Rib Tank

Julia Remillard: “This tank is to die for, and my size S fit great. The material was ultrasoft and easy to move in. I love how I felt like I could wear this to do anything — lounge, workout, hang out with friends, etc.

“I think for my loungewear girlies, this is a good purchase — and the consensus around the room was I looked super cute, so I think it’s worth it!”

Pros:

  • Soft fabric
  • Versatile — can dress up or down

Cons:

  • None to note

Cotton Rib Legging

Julia Remillard: “At 5-foot-1, I am a shortie, and these pants could have been just a smidge shorter for my taste; I didn’t love the ankle bunch. However, I do feel like if I got a size XS instead of S, this problem might’ve been eliminated.

“The leggings have a ‘boyish’-style crotch, giving a briefs vibe that made me feel like I was, ahem, packing. For some girls, maybe that’s hot; for me, it was not. I preferred how these leggings look when I rolled the waistband once — they fit a bit tighter around the crotch and accented my petiteness and natural curves in a more feminine way.”
